Final thoughts of game and class:

I really enjoyed this class. From the moment I knew about it, I knew I would love it. It has been a truly great class and I'd recomend it to anyone. Our game is awesome. I enjoyed making it. I'm almost sad that we're done.

Game Progress as of 5-24-10

We are done! Actually, we could add more, but the file size is already past the limit that our wiki allows. I guess they weren't expecting our game to be this big. We added some sounds, but the intro animation won't have any sounds. The file size limit is a problem we just can't fix.

Game Progress as of 4-30-10:

We've made a great deal of progress. We've completed two out of the five levels as of today. We are nearly done with the 3rd. The coding has been very difficult to make correctly, but we've pulled through. After we finish the last 3 levels, we will be finished!

Game progress as of April 22:

We've hit a standstill. After I designed what each level looked liked, Michael started to work on coding it. Sadly, the codes are very complex and we're having a bit of a tough time. We're having trouble getting the enemies to move and fire back at the rocket.

Game Progress as of April 16

It's EPIC. Theres no questioning it. Michael finished the title screen and coded the instruction screen I designed, making it fully functional. I also finished my opening flash intro. It took me 3 weeks, but it looks great! It's only missing sound. We've also included the educational part in the instructions of the game. Now we have to code the enemies and rocket for 15 levels of gameplay. This'll be fun....

Our Game Progress...

We haven't really started on the gameplay yet, but I'd say our game is coming along quite well. We've been working on an intro screen and a cool animation before the game starts. It'll be really cool when we finish. No one else in our class is doing anything like this, so our game is going to be intresting. However, we have not put anything educational in the game yet. We need to look up some interest information. All in all, our game is looking pretty neat.

Adding Navagation

This topic was rather easy. Our group has already made buttons before, so it was pretty simple to make them again. I enjoyed this section.

Here is a video having to do with disease treatment:

Planning our Game

Galaga is the game ours in based on.
WE DO NOT OWN GALAGA. ALL RIGHTS BELONG TO THE RESPECTIVE OWNERS.

I'm creating the intro animation and designing nearly all game elements. I've worked with Flash before so I', pretty good at doing all this stuff. I've had no disagreements with my teammate. I really look forward to creating this game because I'm going to make games for my job after I'm done with school.

Paper Prototyping

I enjoyed making a paper prototype. I like to draw so it was fun to make. Filming it was fun too because I just ad-libbed the whole speech about the game. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that our video had some trouble uploading on viddler.

Imagining my game

I'm going to start working on the new game soon. I'm pretty excited because my partner and I have a lot of cool ideas to make a fun and educational game. I even plan on having an animated intro, if possible. I'm looking forward to it.

My Mini Game Project

I enjoyed making this mini game. Coding the play button was probably the thing I liked the least, due to the problems it caused. I fixed them, however, and even made a dancing bunny on the title screen. That was really fun to make! Flash is a really neat tool. I have a copy at home and I'm starting to really work on some cool stuff.

Here's a link to the game:

I enjoy playing video games in my spare time. Right now, I've been playing Left 4 Dead 2, TF2, GTA4, and New super Mario Bros. Wii. Sadly, my xbox broke yesterday, so now I can only play my wii games. Oh well, I'll live.

Blogs I will look at.

Here's three blogs that I think could help me with our game:

http://blogs.consumerreports.org/health/2009/04/masks-can-help-prevent-swine-flu-infections-preventing-swine-flu-swine-flu-prevention.html

http://ducknetweb.blogspot.com/2008/08/hand-sanitizers-good-for-preventing.html

http://preventdisease.com/news/09/082709_incrementalism.shtml

I choose these blogs because they all have to do with keeping you healthy and avoiding diseases. Information in these blogs could be put into my game if they are facts.

Game reviews

I played a few games during the past couple days. I reviewed two of them on my wiki page.
The first game, Medical Mysteries, I actually enjoyed. It had several mini games in the main game. It was made to teach about how to fight and prevent diseases. It even had a "Frogger" spoof! It's worth playing.

I also played a really boring easy game called "Super Toaster". The gameplay was terrible and I think a two year old could beat it. Plus, you play as a tree. Just a random tree. You never play as the toaster, which was odd. The game tries to teach about the "dangers" of global warming, but it fails. I didn't learn anything useful from this game. I'd rant more about how bad this game is, but it's not really worth my time.

This class.

This class is quite fun. It's also by far my easiest class. Trig, English and Chem. are not fun.

So, does anyone else have a class thats boring or hard this semester?
